The expectations from fans all over the world will be high, and they will be keeping close watch on the team via.

The Blues showed promise under Frank Lampard, but under Thomas Tuchel, the team of super talented youngsters are coming into their own. The German tactician has unlocked guys like Reese-James, Mount, and Mendy, and the addition of Romelu Lukaku to a frontline that boasts names like Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, and Hakim Ziyech means the Blues have one of the most exciting offenses in Europe. Winning the Champions League last season was a great surprise and would no doubt have shown fans that their team is on the verge of a new age of success, but the biggest desire for that success will be in the Premier League where the Blues have not won since the 2016/17 season. Antonio Conte was the coach that year, and the team was led by Terry, hazard, and Diego Costa, all of whom are all at distant memories for the club now. That was also the year Chelsea sent Lukaku to Everton, and the Belgian bagged 25 goals for the Toffees.

Abramovich has pulled all the stops to make sure the team is competitive in 2021, with a nice mix of youngsters who are still coming into their own but can produce, and experience that is not unproductive. The Blues have started the season on a strong note, unwavering in front of opponents like Liverpool and Arsenal. The Blues came out with four points in those two big matches and are two points behind early frontrunners Tottenham. With two big games against perennial contenders out of the way, Chelsea is poised to face easier matchups until the second half of the season, and the expectation is for the team to be top or in the hunt come the break.
