“Hard to believe”- Tuchel gives his verdict on 30-year-old Chelsea superstar after Tottenham outing

Thomas Tuchel lauded Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante after impressive performance against Tottenham

Speaking to the media after the match (h/t International Business Times), Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has praised the performance of N’Golo Kante after the Frenchman’s sublime performance against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

It seemed like the game would end in a stalemate after the first half of the game between the Blues and Spurs on Sunday while Tuchel’s men were also on the back foot for the first 20 minutes of the game.

However, the German boss put his managerial experience to best use as he took off an offensive player in Mason Mount and brought in N’Golo Kante to shore up the midfield line.

The Frenchman was back to his stellar best as he was intercepting passes, progressing the ball up the pitch, and also scored the 2nd goal on the day thanks to a deflection from Eric Dier. Tuchel was delighted with the 30-year-old’s performance on the day and spoke about it to the media after the game.

He said (h/t International Business Times):

“If you have N’Golo (Kante), you have something everyone is looking for. You have everything that you need in midfield with work rate, intensity, ball wins, skilful play, off the ball, with the ball, dribbling, and even a goal.”

“I see this every day in training, and it is hard to believe how good he is. He doesn’t make a fault in ball wins. He plays excellent in every possession game in training. He is a unique guy.”

The French international’s return would have been a huge boost for the club as the midfielder has already been injured twice this season.

However, the return has certainly been a timely one since the West London club are set to play 4 games in the space of 12 days, including crucial ties against Manchester City and Juventus.
