“We’re the hunters”: 22-year-old Chelsea ace makes Premier League title prediction

Kai Havertz believes Chelsea are ‘hunters’ in title race

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports (h/t Metro), Kai Havertz believes that Chelsea will have to prove their quality in the Premier League title race like previous champions Manchester City and Liverpool.

Havertz signed for Chelsea last summer for a mega fee of £71million but the German did not let his price tag affect his form on the pitch. While it did take a little time for the youngster to settle in, Thomas Tuchel’s arrival certainly sped up the process.

The youngster was playing in the frontline and became a crucial part of the side that reached the FA Cup final and secured a place in the Top 4 last season. However, the glory moment for the 22-year-old would have been scoring the only goal in the Champions League final as he led the Blues to only their 2nd triumph in the competition.

The youngster has started this season in good form as well as he found the back of the net against Liverpool last month and has featured in all six games for the club. Although the Blues are yet to lose a game this season, the German international feels that winning the Premier League title will not be easy, and they will be ‘hunters’ in the race.

He told Sky Sports (h/t Metro):

“Of course, we have the quality, we have the players to win the league, but it’s not about saying that after the fourth game, it’s too early to say it. We’ve also said we’re the hunters of Liverpool and City because they’ve showed in the last few years that they are unbelievable, and we want to show that we are ourselves after the Champions League title.”
