Transfer News: Chelsea warned they will have to bid more than £100m for Declan Rice
According to transfer news from Football.london (h/t Daily Mail), Chelsea could have to come up with an offer of more than £100m for Declan Rice. That is the minimum amount West Ham would accept for their star midfielder. Clubs such as Manchester City and United are also after the Englishman.
Chelsea know a thing or two about Declan Rice as he was once a part of their academy alongside the likes of Mason Mount. Since then, he has gone on to West Ham and developed into one of the better midfielders in the league. The Blues have been after the player since the days of Frank Lampard.
Lampard himself went on to reveal that Chelsea were after Rice. However, a move never came to pass over the last couple of windows but Chelsea still maintained their interest in the player. Rice is currently rebuffing contract offers from West Ham as he wants to play for a Champions League based club.
Chelsea are among the club that are looking at Rice but they will have to stump up a huge amount for him. West Ham have warned that it could take an offer of more than £100million to prise him away from the London Stadium (h/t Daily Mail). Both the Manchester clubs are also said to be after the midfielder who has become a stalwart for West Ham and England.

The 22-year-old Rice is coming off one of his best seasons for the Hammers and even had a stellar campaign for England in the Euros. That could be a reason why such an exorbitant price is being demanded. Chelsea now know what they have to splurge but the question is if they will go ahead with it.
