Transfer News: Chelsea to make final approach for Jules Kounde on deadline day

According to transfer news from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will make one final push for Jules Kounde on the deadline day. It has often looked that the deal could collapse any time but Chelsea are expected to go one more time. Sevilla are also expected to hold firm on their stance.

It has all come down to the deadline day of the transfer window. Chelsea have not gone after too many players as the focus has been on outgoings in a bid to trim the squad. They have done exactly that with the only notable signing being the return of Romelu Lukaku for a club-record deal.

Chelsea are keen on signing Jules Kounde.

However, Jules Kounde is a name Chelsea have been after for a while now. The Sevilla man is a talented defender who looks to have a bright future in the game. At just 22, he has made himself a regular of the Sevilla backline and has broken into the France national team as well. However, Chelsea have not had it easy with this pursuit.

It was earlier claimed that Sevilla are asking for a higher fee which has put the deal in jeopardy. Chelsea are apparently still willing to give it a shot. As transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano can claim, despite the deal on the verge of collapsing multiple times, Chelsea are likely to make one final approach on deadline day. However, Sevilla are unlikely to back down from their demands.

This is make-or-break territory for Chelsea. There are only a handful of hours in the day left and Chelsea know that they cannot keep pushing for a deal. One side will have to give in and it’s unlikely to be Sevilla as they are in a strong position with their demands.
