Transfer News: Tiemoue Bakayoko could seal a move away from Chelsea this summer
According to transfer news from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tiemoue Bakayoko could seal a move away from Chelsea this summer amidst interest from AC Milan.
Bakayoko, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 for £35million, has suffered for game-time across his last three seasons at the club, courtesy of which the player has sealed three loan moves in the last three years.
However, AC Milan, who Bakayoko joined on loan in 2018, are interested in signing in the player this summer and are in talks with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano. His whole tweet read:
“AC Milan are in talks with Chelsea for Tiemoué Bakayoko’s comeback, negotiations ongoing as he’s on the market”.
The midfielder was a regular in Chelsea’s midfield line under Antonio Conte in the 2017/18 season as he racked up 43 appearances in all competitions while he also scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in the process. Bakayoko was also a part of the Blues’ FA Cup triumph in 2018, but unfortunately, the Frenchman has not featured for the club since then.
Loan moves to AC Milan, Monaco, and Napoli have not done enough to convince Chelsea of the player’s qualities either, with Thomas Tuchel also preferring the midfield trio of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, and N’Golo Kante.

Moreover, given that Chelsea have also been interested in signing the likes of Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice, it is quite clear that the 27-year-old has no future at the club. The player has also been willing to move this summer, something evidence by his refusal to sign a contract extension at the end of June, according to Sky Sports Italia (h/t Daily Mail).
However, if this deal has to be completed, both clubs will have to move fast as there are only two weeks left until the transfer window shuts on the 31st of August.
