“It has been discussed”- Thomas Tuchel hints at 23-year-old starlet’s exit with £34m offer ‘accepted’

Thomas Tuchel hints at Tammy Abraham departure from Chelsea

According to Daily Star, Thomas Tuchel has hinted that Tammy Abraham is likely to depart Chelsea. Speaking ahead of the Crystal Palace game, Tuchel was asked about the striker and he refused to rule out that an exit is on the cards. Roma have shown interest in Abraham with a £34million offer.

It has been an eventful two seasons at the club for Tammy Abraham. Once seen as one of the brightest talents to emerge from the academy, he has seen his role reduced after last season’s signings of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. By the end of last season, Tuchel pretty much sidelined him for no apparent reason.

Now, with the latest addition of Romelu Lukaku, Abraham finds himself at a career crossroad. Given the outlay on Lukaku, he is likely to be the first choice for Tuchel while the duo of Havertz and Werner are also expected to play prominent roles. That leaves someone like Abraham in limbo.

So far, Roma have shown some level of interest in the striker and even seemed to have had a £34million fee accepted. It would seem that Abraham is indeed heading for an exit from Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel has refused to rule out that possibility.

“There are always possibilities that players leave us, especially in the same position. The situation for Tammy is clear, it has been discussed. At the moment there is no news. We have a good relationship, he is in the squad for tomorrow.”
