Inter Milan want two Chelsea players in swap for Romelu Lukaku
According to Independent (h/t Mirror), Inter Milan could be offered two players in a cash plus player deal by Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. With Inter demanding north of £100m, the deal is being held up given that it’s a significant amount of money in this climate. That could see Chelsea offer Davide Zappacosta and Marcos Alonso in order to sweeten the deal.
Chelsea are no strangers to Romelu Lukaku. The forward spent three years of his developmental years at Stamford Bridge before making the jump to Everton. Stints at Everton and Manchester United led him to Inter Milan where he has established himself as one of the top strikers in Europe.
Lukaku has led the line for Inter in tremendous fashion as he helped his side to a long-awaited Serie A title. That has attracted Chelsea’s attention who want to sign a new striker after goalscoring woes in their frontline prevalent throughout last season.
Now, the problem for Chelsea is that Inter want a record sum of more than £100m for their star striker. That has seen the deal come to an impasse. However, Chelsea could get things going in their favour by offering two of their fringe players, Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta in addition to a cash amount. That could be enough to push Inter into sanctioning a sale.
