Transfer News: Terms ‘agreed’ between Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku
According to a report by football.london, Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku have ‘agreed’ terms for a potential transfer during this summer.
Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout to bolster his line with a new striker. And the report mentions that the only thing left now is for Marina Granovskaia to agree upon a fee with Inter Milan for the striker.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea’s new bid between £100million to £110million is expected to be accepted by I Nerazzurri.
Furthermore, the striker is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract where his weekly wages would be around £212,000 a week. Chelsea are also said to have had an £85million plus Marcos Alonso bid turned down for the Belgian striker.
Chelsea reunion for Lukaku?
But it seems that they are now close to landing their man. if everything goes according to Chelsea’s plan, the 28-year-old could become Thomas Tuchel’s second signing of the summer.
The Blues have already signed ex-Fulham stopper, Marcus Bettinelli, perhaps to replace the outgoing Willy Caballero. Chelsea’s business this summer has largely focused on sales.
A number of players have already left the club, including Marc Guehi, Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud, and few others. And that would undoubtedly help them when they look to bring in new faces.
The freed up spots in Tuchel’s squad is accompanied by the incoming transfer fees from the above sales, and not to mention the amount of money taken off their wage bill for this season.
