Transfer News: Transfer boost for Chelsea as Erling Haaland could be available for £64million in January
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have received a fresh boost in the hopes to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian superstar, who has scored an astounding 62 goals in 62 games for the German outfit since his arrival from RB Salzburg, has attracted interest from several clubs this summer, including Chelsea.
The 21-year-old is one of the hottest properties in world football currently, courtesy of which Dortmund slapped a £150million price tag on the forward to ward off any suitors for the Norwegian.
However, the forward was going to be available for £64million next summer due to a clause in his contract. While that was the case, things seem to have changed now with the player available for the aforementioned price in January itself.
The Blues, who wrapped up the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in a club-record deal of £98million this summer, could be tempted to sign the Norwegian in January as well.
Given that Lukaku is 28, Haaland could serve as the main striker for the West London outfit in the future while he could also form a strike-partnership with the Belgian.

However, signing Haaland is going to be no easy feat. The 21-year-old has attracted interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United as well, who will also be hoping to sign the forward for his £64million price tag in January, according to Marca. (h/t Daily Mail).
Given the Norwegian’s age and talent, he could be a blockbuster signing for the Blues. But they will have to move fast to complete a deal for the 21-year-old as they would not want anybody to complete a swoop for the player ahead of them.
