Serie A side schedule meeting with Chelsea for €40m out-of-favour star: Romano

Transfer News: Atalanta set to meet Chelsea regarding Tammy Abraham move

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta have scheduled a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of this week to discuss the future of Tammy Abraham.

It can’t be denied that Abraham has gradually lost favour under Thomas Tuchel ever since Frank Lampard was sacked. Timo Werner has been the German manager’s go-to man during that stint, which spells bad news for the Englishman.

The 23-year-old is now on the transfer radar of several top clubs, including Atalanta, West Ham United, and even Arsenal. And Romano claims that it is the Serie A side that are gunning for a €40million transfer this summer.

However, he says that the bid from Atalanta is more likely to come if Inter Milan try to sign their frontman, Duvan Zapata. That could be a possibility, considering Chelsea are closer than ever to landing Romelu Lukaku.

Abraham nears exit

If the Belgian striker does join the Blues, Abraham may find it even harder to get minutes – if he didn’t do so already. But if Romano’s tweet is to be believed, then there is a strong possibility of seeing the Chelsea academy graduate depart this summer.

“Atalanta board have a meeting scheduled in London with Chelsea in the next 48 hours to ask for Tammy Abraham as main target. Price tag around €40m. Arsenal and West Ham interested too. #CFC Atalanta gonna bid for Tammy if Inter will ask for Duván Zapata as Lukaku replacement.”

It remains to be seen what happens with this transfer saga. Abraham is apparently not crucial to the former PSG and Borussia Dortmund manager’s plan at Stamford Bridge.
