Chelsea starlet Tino Anjorin close to Lokomotiv Moscow move; buyback clause inserted
According to Daily Mail, Tino Anjorin is close to leaving Chelsea for Lokomotiv Moscow on a loan-to-buy deal. The Russian side will be shelling out £17m for the talented midfielder if they want to sign him permanently at the end of the loan deal. However, Chelsea have been smart enough to include a buyback clause in this agreement.
A Chelsea man through and through, Anjorin has been with the club since 2008. He has gone through all the youth levels before making his debut under Frank Lampard in 2019. The attacking midfielder would go on to make a further three appearances under Lampard and was handed his Champions League bow as well.
However, Anjorin has been hovering around the first team without much success since Thomas Tuchel took over. Chances were at a premium last season as Chelsea were chasing top four and fighting for the Champions League as well. Despite some opportunities in the preseason, it never looked like he would breach the first team.
Now, it would seem that Anjorin is close to sealing a loan move to Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow. They will have an option to sign him permanently for £17m at the end of the loan spell. However, Chelsea have made a good decision to include a buyback clause in case he ends up flourishing and they want him back.

Chelsea’s exodus of players continues on the deadline day with Tiemoue Bakayoko moving out recently along with a few other names like Danny Drinkwater, Dujon Sterling. Nonetheless, this move should benefit Anjorin as he might get more game time than he would have at the Bridge. The buyback clause ensures that Chelsea will have a say in his future which was an astute move.
