Chelsea not ready to let go of 28-year-old star amid interest from European giants

Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech is not going anywhere this summer amid AC Milan rumours

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Express), Chelsea are not keen on letting Hakim Ziyech leave this summer amidst links to AC Milan.

The Moroccan was linked with the Italian outfit this summer and a move was on the cards for the winger, as per Calcio Mercato (Express). However, AC Milan’s chances of signing the player now are understood to be ‘nearly impossible’.

This sudden change has a lot to do with the fact that Thomas Tuchel wants the 28-year-old to have a future at the club, although this did not look like the case for the second half of last season.

Ziyech featured for Chelsea in their pre-season campaign

Ziyech, who arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer for £33million, suffered an injury in his first pre-season game but the 28-year-old did eventually recovered from it, and Frank Lampard did employ his services on the pitch consistently until Ziyech suffered another injury

By the time the Moroccan gained full fitness, Tuchel had joined the club, and the winger saw game-time hard to come by after that. However, that has changed this summer as Tuchel has used the player in every pre-season game while he also featured in the UEFA Super Cup, where he ended up with a shoulder injury after scoring the 1st goal of the game.

Thus, although Ziyech is injured, he is still very much a part of Tuchel’s plans, even though the Blues are stacked with talent on the wings in the form of Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi, while Timo Werner has also featured as a winger previously.

Hence, Ziyech will continue to recover from his injury and while he might not be available for the London derby on the coming Sunday against Arsenal, Tuchel will be hoping to have the player available for selection when they face Liverpool on the 28th of August.
