“He has everything”: Chelsea urged to sign £70m-rated La Liga defensive star

Chelsea icon wants Thomas Tuchel to sign Sevilla sensation Jules Kounde

Speaking on ESPN (h/t Daily Star), former Chelsea defender, Frank Lebouef urged his former club to sign Sevilla star, Jules Kounde, who he believes has ‘everything’.

The Blues are linked with the French defender, but Mundo Deportivo (h/t Mirror) claimed last week that Sevilla have no intention of selling him and have slapped a £70m price tag on their star man.

And Lebouef, who spent five years at Chelsea and won several trophies including the UEFA Super Cup, believes that Kounde is a ‘warrior’ who is the ‘future’.

“He’s (Kounde) a fantastic player. He has everything. He is a warrior, he never gives up… he is the future for sure.”

The 1998 World Cup winner with France then added that Kounde would be a good signing for Thomas Tuchel, whether he gets him in this summer transfer window, or the next one.

“Maybe it’s an opportunity for Chelsea to get him maybe not this season, but next season. I don’t know what Kounde wants to do in his life, if he’s ready to be on the bench more than he thinks he will be. It’s up to him. It would be a good signing for Chelsea.”

Kounde is a quality player who would undoubtedly add depth to Chelsea’s defence. With Thiago Silva turning 37 this year and a couple of Chelsea defenders in the last year of their contract, he would be a useful long-term asset.

The Blues have already seen Marc Guehi and Fikayo Tomori leave the club this summer. The money acquired from such sales could be put towards signing Kounde.
