Talented Chelsea midfield ace wanted by as many as six clubs this summer – report

Transfer News: Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah wanted by six clubs

According to L’Equipe (h/t Birmingham Live), Chelsea midfielder Trevoh Chalobah is a subject of interest from as many as six clubs across Europe in the current transfer window.

Chalobah is a product of the Chelsea youth academy and has been on the club’s books way back since 2007 when he was an eight-year-old. Having risen through the ranks at Cobham, the 22-year-old midfielder has featured in plenty for the Blues’ Under-18 and the Under-23 sides but has never made a first-team appearance.

Chalobah has been farmed out on loan for the past three seasons in row, having spent the 2018/19 term with Ipswich Town before signing for Huddersfield Town for 2019/20. The defensive midfielder was loaned out to French club FC Lorient for the 2020/21 campaign where he impressed quite a fair bit, scoring and assisting two goals each in 30 games.

Back at Chelsea after his loan spell, Chalobah has been made available for a transfer by manager Thomas Tuchel. And, there seems to be no shortage of suitors for the 22-year-old this summer. Indeed, former loan club Lorient are intent on signing him on a permanent basis this year after his performances in the last season. (h/t Birmingham Live)

In addition, fellow French clubs Montpellier and RC Lens have also shown interest in the Chelsea youngster. Closer to home, the 22-year-old Chalobah is attracting serious interest from EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion while two Premier League clubs – Crystal Palace and Watford, where he could reunite with brother Nathaniel Chalobah, are also keen.
