Fans told to ‘watch out’ for superstar Spanish veteran attracting Chelsea interest

Transfer News: Chelsea fans told to ‘watch out’ for PSG target Sergio Ramos

Speaking Reach PLC’s ‘Transfer Window podcast’ (h/t The Express), transfer expert Ian McGarry did not rule out the possibility of Sergio Ramos signing for Thomas Tuchel and told fans to ‘watch out’ with regards to potential Chelsea interest.

The Spanish centre-back is considered one of the best in the business, but he is set to leave Real Madrid. The 35-year-old’s contract at Santiago Bernabeu has expired and he will leave as a free agent in the summer.

PSG are credited with strong interest and Ramos could join the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer. Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal are also linked with the trophy-laden Spain international. (h/t The Express)

Manchester United are said to prefer Raphael Varane while Arsenal’s absence from European football can dent their chances. But McGarry believes Chelsea can potentially show interest in the superstar.

Chelsea could want Ramos

“Ramos is highly unlikely to sign for Manchester City and therefore will be looking elsewhere, potentially, and ironically, maybe even Chelsea, with regards to teaming up with Silva where you’ve effectively got a superstar central-defensive pairing.”

McGarry then talked about the prospect of a Thiago Silva-Sergio Ramos partnership at Stamford Bridge, and asked listeners to look out for any potential interest from the Blues this summer.

“…with their level of experience between the two of them[Silva and Ramos], it could be outstanding potentially if paired together. So, just watch out for Ramos Chelsea, and Ramos generally in the Premier League. Centre-halves are at a premium, that’s for sure.”

The Blues defence has looked solid under Thomas Tuchel and if the Blues show any formal interest in Ramos in the future, then it would be a smart move by their management considering the Spaniard’s experience, leadership, and winning pedigree.
