Talented 19-year-old Chelsea academy ace set to be given chance to impress Tuchel in pre-season

Chelsea starlet Armando Broja could be set for first-team role

According to Football.london, Chelsea youngster Armando Broja could be set for a first-team role next season should he manage to impress manager Thomas Tuchel in pre-season.

A product of the Chelsea youth academy, Broja joined the Blues at the Under-9 level and has since enjoyed a rapid progression through the ranks at the club. The 19-year-old forward made his first-team debut for Chelsea in 2020 in a game against Everton.

This past season saw Broja being loaned out to Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem, where he made a solid impression. The teenage striker featured 34 times across all competitions for his temporary club, scoring 11 goals and setting up three more.

On the back of his impressive form, Broja also broke into the Albanian national team towards the end of the last year and has gone on to make six appearances so far. Now set to return to Chelsea for the pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 season, the teenage forward could be set for a huge opportunity.

Indeed, Chelsea are going through a major shakeup in their centre-forward department this summer. Olivier Giroud is closing in on a transfer to AC Milan while Tammy Abraham is also expected to be on his way out after having struggled for minutes under Tuchel. (h/t Football.london)

The Blues are eyeing reinforcements in the form of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland while England captain Harry Kane has also been linked as well. But moves for the duo come with huge challenges, while another target, Romelu Lukaku wants to stay at his current club Inter Milan. (h/t Football.london)

This situation could end up paving a way for Broja to get a role in the first-team, should he manage to make an impression on Tuchel during the pre-season.

More Chelsea News:

Even if the Blues sign another prolific striker, having Broja as cover wouldn’t be the worst idea considering that Timo Werner has flattered to deceive, while he has also been used as an attacking midfielder on numerous occasions by the manager.

An intriguing summer awaits the young Broja.
