Transfer News: Chelsea in a three-way battle for Declan Rice
According to transfer news from Liverpool Echo, Chelsea will be competing with Liverpool and Manchester United for the signing of Declan Rice. Liverpool are the latest side to join the race but Chelsea hold the edge given that they have been after him for a while now.
The West Ham man is not a new name to Chelsea. After all, he was a part of their academy during his younger days. However, Rice has since joined West Ham. Over the last few years, he has developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in the league.
Not only is he a key player for West Ham but he has also pushed his way into the England setup. Currently starring for England in the Euros, Rice has seen his future come into question. While West Ham remain keen on keeping their star man, Rice is looking for a way out.
Chelsea are a club that have been after Rice since Lampard wanted the player last year. However, over the turn of the season, it would seem that interest in him has grown. Manchester United registered their keenness followed by Liverpool. The Blues are said to hold the edge though given how long the interest has been there in the £100million-rated midfielder.
