Chelsea make fresh attempt to land prolific 27-year-old superstar from rivals

Transfer News: Thomas Tuchel still hoping to get Harry Kane at Chelsea

Journalist Matt Law was speaking on the ‘London is Blue Podcast’ (h/t football.london) and mentioned that Thomas Tuchel has made another attempt at bringing Harry Kane to Chelsea from Tottenham Hotspur.

The German manager wants to strengthen his team going into this season, and Kane is one name linked to the Blues. Spurs being Chelsea’s rivals can complicate any potential deal for the Englishman.

But despite all that, Law mentions Thomas Tuchel’s desire to get Harry Kane at Stamford Bridge. Kane has spent his entire professional career on Spurs’ books, but Chelsea may want to change that.

“I know that they’ve had another go on Kane, but they are just not going to get Kane. But (Thomas) Tuchel is serious about Kane. Tuchel doesn’t care about this rivalry between Chelsea and Tottenham. But the board know that it’s 99% impossible. But I know for a fact that they’ve again looked at the seen whether they can get any talks going for Kane.”

From White to Blue for Kane?

Timo Werner was just signed last season from RB Leipzig but his underwhelming goal-scoring means the club can strengthen in that position. Moreover, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham may not be at Chelsea after this summer.

The Frenchman has already sealed a move to AC Milan, with the Englishman on the radar of London rivals Arsenal (h/t football.london). Kane’s potential addition is a tasty prospect for the Blues faithful.

Chelsea are fresh off the UEFA Champions League winner’s podium and would want to challenge for the title next season.

However improbable a possible transfer may seem, the club would be wise to pursue Kane’s signature until there is no doubt left about his future. And if not him, Tuchel should look elsewhere to bring in another number 9 at the Bridge.
