Chelsea could lose third star to AC Milan as Italian club eyes loan deal for 28-year-old playmaker

Journalist Santi Aouna reveals Al-Nassr have approached Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech.

Transfer News: AC Milan eye loan deal for Hakim Ziyech after signing Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud from Chelsea

According to a report by Italian publication Calciamercato (h/t Express), AC Milan are ‘pushing hard’ to sign Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea on loan and are ‘confident’ of getting a deal across the line.

Chelsea and Milan have already negotiated a couple of deals this summer. Defender Fikayo Tomori made his loan move permanent at San Siro while Olivier Giroud also switched England’s capital for Italy’s capital city.

Ziyech signed from Ajax for a £38million transfer fee just last year. But since then, the Moroccan playmaker has failed to establish himself as a regular starter under Thomas Tuchel.

The report mentions that I Rossoneri want to sign Ziyech on a loan deal with an option to buy. This would be similar to the deal that was agreed upon for Tomori as well.

Express also mentions that Chelsea’s pursuit of Erling Haaland in the summer can also mean that Ziyech is sold. Kurt Zouma, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Tammy Abraham are also believed to be up for sale.

Ziyech is probably more expendable in this Chelsea squad than the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount, all of whom found playing time easy to come by under their new German manager.

The former Ajax man, however, made just eight starts since Tuchel’s arrival as Chelsea boss. It would be unfair to bring the jury out on Ziyech after just one season at the club.

More Chelsea News:

Ideally, the 28-year-old should be entrusted with another season at Chelsea. But if he does leave for Italy, the Blues faithful should not miss his impact much considering the amount of young talent in Chelsea’s squad right now.
