Transfer News: Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham not opposed to Arsenal move
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro], Tammy Abraham is aware of the interest from Arsenal and is open to joining the Gunners from Chelsea.
The Englishman is put up for sale by Thomas Tuchel and Arsenal are alerted to his situation. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the last year of their contracts, Abraham is a viable prospect for them. (h/t Metro)
But the Gunners would prefer a lean move before they could think of buying him permanently in 2022. Chelsea, on the other hand, are seeking to get rid of Abraham now and want around £40m.
Abraham was getting game-time under Frank Lampard but saw Tuchel blatantly prefer Timo Werner over him during the closing stages of last season.
Abraham to switch allegiances?
He would undoubtedly get more game-time at a club like Arsenal, with Tuchel himself in the market for another No. 9. The report mentions that TucheL=l’s priority in that department is Norwegian wonderkid, Erling Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund hitman is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe but any deal for him could cost Chelsea a club-record fee of £120m to £130m.
Abraham does not seem like he has a future at Stamford Bridge, at least as long as Tuchel is here. The former PSG manager left Abraham out of Chelsea’s matchday squads for the FA Cup as well as the UEFA Champions League final.

Arsenal are a team where Abraham can get more minutes and while any potential move to the Red side of London could annoy some Blues fans, they should keep in mind that if he does leave, it would be because the Blues themselves deemed him surplus to requirements.
