Manager confirms clubs ‘putting out feelers’ for European goal machine linked to Chelsea

Interest in Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski growing, reveals Julian Nagelsmann

According to the Daily Star, Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that clubs have been ‘putting out feelers’ for Robert Lewandowski, amid links with Chelsea.

One of the best strikers in the game, Lewandowski has been plundering goals for fun in Bundesliga over the past decade with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. The 32-year-old enjoyed a stunning 2021/22 campaign during which he broke Gerd Muller’s long-standing 40-goal in a Bundesliga season record, helping Die Roten to another title.

However, after seven hugely successful seasons with the club, Lewandowski is seemingly angling for an exit this summer, with still two years left on his contract. Chelsea are one of the clubs that have been heavily linked with a move for the Poland international despite their interest in Erling Haaland. (h/t Daily Star)

And, Bayern’s new manager, Julian Nagelsmann, has confirmed that Lewandowski’s future remains uncertain amid interest from several clubs this summer. (h/t Daily Star)

“I think it’s normal for someone who scores so many goals that almost every club puts out a feeler. I think on one hand Robert knows what he has in Munich, what he has in this team. I’ve already spoken to him and texted him. I’m not very fond of the first official act with a player being to immediately discuss his contractual situation.”

Since joining Bayern Munich from Dortmund in the summer of 2014 on a free transfer, Lewandowski has amassed a tally of 294 goals in 329 games.
