English starlet ‘not willing’ to be a part of Chelsea deal for Erling Haaland

Chelsea Transfer News: Callum Hudson-Odoi not to be part of Erling Haaland deal

A source close to Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has told Sky Sports News that the winger “will not be part of any swap deal” for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker has interest from the Blues, and for good reason. He has taken the Bundesliga by storm ever since he joined from Austrian side, RB Salzburg, in January 2020.

And in a bid to land him, Chelsea were believed to be ready to offer Hudson-Odoi or Tammy Abraham as a potential makeweight. However, it seems like Hudson-Odoi will not be going the other way if the Blues agree on a deal for Haaland.

He has a ‘fantastic relationship’ with Thomas Tuchel and the 20-year-old winger wants to fight for his place in the Chelsea first-team set-up next season, the team where he sees his long-term future at. (h/t Sky Sports)

Earlier this week, a source close to the deal told Sky Sports that the Blues face ‘mission impossible’ in their bid to land the former Molde striker, whom they see as their priority target. The source said:

“Chelsea are trying but it is going to be very difficult. At the moment it looks like mission impossible. It is unlikely but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”

There is no doubt that Chelsea fans would want Haaland to join the London-based club without having to lose a top talent like Hudson-Odoi. Abraham is still relatively expandable if we consider how Tuchel snubbed him from important matchday squads towards the end of last season.

And if the striker was to leave in any such deal, his absence would not be felt so much considering the Blues would be signing a long-term No.9 in Haaland, who would arguably be their first-choice striker.
