Report – Chelsea mainstay eyed up over summer move by La Liga heavyweights

N’Golo Kante is looking to extend his Chelsea contract after positive talks with the club.

Transfer News: Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante wanted by Real Madrid

According to transfer news from Spanish publication El Gol Digital (h/t football.london), Real Madrid have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea midfield superstar N’Golo Kante in the summer.

One of the most beloved footballers on the planet, Kante has been with Chelsea since the summer of 2016, when he made the switch from Leicester City. During his five-year stint, the 30-year-old has been an ever-present in the lineup at Stamford Bridge when fit and available.

So far, Kante has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League with Chelsea, and has had a huge hand in each of the successes that the Blues have tasted during this period. Kante’s performances in the run-up to the club lifting the UCL trophy at least were just stunning.

And seems like the midfielder’s performances have caught the eyes of La Liga bigwigs Real Madrid this summer. The report states that Los Blancos are hoping to make a move for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with France in the current transfer window, should Chelsea sign Eduardo Camavinga.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Kante’s compatriot in recent days, with club legend Petr Cech said to be playing a key role in helping the team secure the 18-year-old’s services from Rennes. And, Real Madrid are hatching a plot to swoop for Kante, should Camavinga end up arriving at the Bridge this summer.

Kante still has two years left on his contract with Chelsea and is expected to be handed a new deal after his exploits in the season gone by. So, an exit from the Bridge this summer seems a highly unlikely prospect, as things stand.
