“I confirm it”: Agent of Chelsea’s UEFA Euro 2020 star reveals interest from ‘top European clubs’

Agent of Chelsea star Jorginho confirms interest from top European clubs

According to football.london, Joao Santos, the agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, has claimed that the 29-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from top clubs after his Euro exploits.

At Chelsea since 2018, when he arrived in the footsteps of former manager Maurizio Sarri from Napoli, Jorginho has slowly but surely grown into an integral part of this Blues’ setup. Having won the Europa League in his debut season, the 29-year-old helped the west Londoners lift the UEFA Champions League crown last term.

Now, Jorginho has also added another trophy to his kitty after winning the UEFA Euro 2020 with the Italian national team. The midfielder was one of the most standout performers throughout the tournament and put in another fine display in the finals against England as well.

Jorginho is a key player for Chelsea

And, it seems like Jorginho’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with interest in him soaring, as confirmed by his agent.

“I confirm it, these interests have arrived. Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him.”

These comments come only days after Santos had said that Jorginho would be open to considering a return to Italy should he not be offered a new contract at Chelsea.

“Jorginho won the Champions League and has now become a strong point in Italy too. He has earned everything on the pitch, sweating every victory, always giving his all on the pitch. He wants to extend his contract with the English club, but, if he cannot do it, he’ll think about returning to Serie A, perhaps at Napoli.”

This does seem a bit like Santos is making a play for his client to get a new contract. At the same time, considering how well he has performed, there could be genuine interest from some clubs across Europe as well. Whether a new contract is forthcoming at Chelsea now remains to be seen.
