According to transfer news from Football.london, there seems to be a new complication for Chelsea pursuing Achraf Hakimi. A swap deal could be on the cards involving Marcos Alonso but Inter Milan will only greenlight the deal after they sell off Ivan Perisic.
A youth product of Real Madrid Hakimi made his senior debut in 2017. However, it was during his two-year loan stint with Borussia Dortmund that the Moroccan truly announced himself. The 22-year-old then sealed a permanent transfer to Inter Milan in the summer of 2020.
Having signed for the Italian giants, Hakimi went on to play a critical role. The Nerazzurri went on to lift their first Serie A crown in eleven years, guided by Antonio Conte. Despite their title success, Inter Milan are mired in financial difficulties and may be forced to cash in on their key players in the summer.
Hakimi has thus emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea. Chelsea are trying everything within their power to complete a deal for the Moroccan. Now, there seems to be another complication in the deal. Chelsea are looking to offer Alonso in a swap deal but Inter will only move ahead with the deal provided they can sell Ivan Perisic.
Hakimi would no doubt be a solid addition to Tuchel’s side. He is a natural wing-back, which would allow someone like Azpilicueta to play in central defence. However, it is understandable that Inter would want to clear off some players if they are getting Alonso.
