Transfer News: Chelsea stalling on Jadon Sancho move

According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea are stalling over their decision to pursue Jadon Sancho. Thomas Tuchel is pondering as to whether the Blues need the £80m-rated Dortmund star given the attacking resources he already has.

Sancho has gone from an ambitious teenager to one of the best right-wingers in the game. His stats for Dortmund are rather mind-boggling. The tricky winger has made 137 appearances for the club so far, scoring 50 goals and 64 assists.

Manchester United have been the principal club chasing Sancho. The whole saga to sign Sancho in 2020 was a well-documented one. Nonetheless, Dortmund stood firm on their valuation of the player as United had to give up.

United have returned for the English winger while Chelsea and Liverpool have also added their names to the hat. Dortmund have seemingly relaxed their stance on Sancho which should facilitate a deal. However, it has now come to the fore that Chelsea are unsure of going after the England international.

Thomas Tuchel knows that he has an abundance of wide players such as Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi. That has led him to question whether Chelsea even need someone as expensive as Sancho. United, on the other hand, are starting to make rapid progress on the Sancho deal as they eye a summer transfer.

Sancho has had yet another fantastic season in yellow and that will only serve to raise interest in the forward. However, if Chelsea choose to pass up on him, it wouldn’t be entirely without logic. The club does have one too many attackers and adding another would make things even more complicated.
