Chelsea plot Tammy Abraham swap to reduce Erling Haaland price tag
According to the Transfer Window Podcast (h/t Express), Chelsea are considering offering Tammy Abraham to Borussia Dortmund in a bid to bring down the price tag of Erling Haaland.
It is no secret that Chelsea are hot in pursuit of Haaland this summer. The Blues are intent on adding a proven goalscorer to the ranks after last season saw Jorginho finish as the club’s top scorer in the Premier League – despite him not scoring even once from open play.
Timo Werner showed a surprise profligate nature in front of goal while the likes of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud haven’t really gotten regular runs in the starting XI. Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel & co. are keen on signing a new striker with Haaland at the top of the list after his blistering season with Borussia Dortmund.
Easily one of the most in-form forwards in Europe currently, the Norwegian would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea. However, the German giants have no intentions of letting him leave and will only consider such a move should an offer around the £150m mark come along.
Chelsea, though, are unwilling to match that figure, as per the report. The Blues are open to offering up to £60m in cash for Haaland and instead are hoping to bring the price tag down by offering Abraham as part of the deal for the young striker.

Abraham fell out of favour with Tuchel and missed out on a string of important games towards the end of the season. With his future prospects at the Bridge looking bleak, if there is a possibility that he could help the club sign Haaland, the Blues must explore such an avenue.
