Advantage Chelsea as PSG fall short of £64m valuation of 22-year-old African star

Transfer News: Chelsea have advantage in Achraf Hakimi chase

According to transfer news from Football.london, Chelsea have a huge advantage in the pursuit of Achraf Hakimi. PSG seem to have hit a snag after not being able to offer Inter Milan the £64m they are demanding. Chelsea, on the other hand, are looking to use the Moroccan connection between their own Hakim Ziyech and Hakimi to convince the latter to join the club.

Hakimi came through the ranks at the Real Madrid academy and made his senior debut in 2017. However, it was during his two-year loan stint with Borussia Dortmund that the Moroccan truly announced himself. The 22-year-old then sealed a permanent transfer to Inter Milan in the summer of 2020.

Having signed for the Italian giants, Hakimi went on to essay a critical role. The Nerazzurri went on to lift their first Serie A crown in eleven years, guided by Antonio Conte. Despite their title success, Inter Milan are mired in financial difficulties and may be forced to cash in on their key players in the summer.

Interest in Hakimi has grown since his exploits for Inter. Inter have asked for £64m for the talented defender. However, PSG have only been able to stump up £51m. Due to that, Chelsea now have some advantage. Hakimi and Ziyech play for Morocco and the Blues are hoping to use the prospect of reuniting the duo at club level too.
