Chelsea Transfer News: Thomas Tuchel set to reignite interest in Declan Rice
According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel could reignite the club’s interest in Declan Rice. The West Ham midfielder is wanted again by the Blues as Thomas Tuchel sets out to revamp his squad in the summer.
The 22-year-old was a top target for Chelsea under Frank Lampard during his time at Stamford Bridge. Since the arrival of Tuchel, transfer interest in the West Ham midfielder cooled down. The German manager made it work with the players he had at his disposal to get Chelsea to a Champions League trophy.
Nonetheless, Rice is still of interest to the Blues as they look to bolster the squad for next season. Chelsea might have a good crop of midfielders but it never hurts to go after players who can improve the side further.
Tuchel wants Declan Rice
However, the report now states that Tuchel wants to add the former Chelsea midfielder to his current Blues side. Chelsea are looking to bolster their side after a successful Champions League campaign. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed the same.
“Declan Rice is still on the list of Chelsea. I can confirm that they are still in talks with people close to Declan Rice. He was one of the first targets for Frank Lampard, now there is Tuchel, but the club are still thinking of moving on Declan Rice.
