Transfer News: AC Milan close to finalising a deal for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori
According to transfer news from Football.london, AC Milan are close to finalizing a deal for 23-year-old Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori. A £24million move is expected to take place as confirmed by reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano and Tomori will sign a five-year deal.
A product of the Chelsea youth academy, Tomori broke into the first-team in 2019 after loan spells away at Hull City and Derby County. Initially a regular under Frank Lampard, the England international found himself out of favour since the second half of that season.
Tomori dropped further down the pecking order this term following the arrival of Thiago Silva on a free transfer. Having been deprived of game time at the Bridge, he moved to Milan in January, where has thrived endlessly. The 23-year-old has quickly gone about establishing himself as a mainstay at the back for the Rossoneri.
It had earlier been said that AC Milan were looking to reduce the £24million to-buy clause. However, Romano has now claimed that Milan will make the deal a permanent one at that price. He will be signing a five-year deal at the club and the move is expected to be completed soon.

Tomori’s 15-year association with the Blues finally seems to be coming to an end this summer. While it would be hindsight to say Chelsea should not have let Tomori leave, the fact remains that Chelsea have enough players who can do the job for them as we have seen. Nonetheless, Chelsea are all set to land some handsome profits from this sale.
