According to transfer news from Mirror, Chelsea have received a blow in their pursuit of Sergio Aguero as he has already struck a deal to sign for Barcelona.
The Manchester City striker is set to call time on his stay at the club after 10 years and that has led to a whole host of clubs such as Barcelona and Chelsea being keen on his services. The race for Aguero is heating up as he is set to be a free agent at the end of this season.
That has attracted the attention of clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea, who are looking for a striker for next season. Both clubs have had their issues in attack this season with Barcelona lacking options after the departure of Luis Suarez. Chelsea, on the other hand, have been often forced to play Kai Havterz as a false nine.
Now, it has been reported that Aguero has struck a deal with Barcelona. This does come as a blow for the Blues, who were also keen on the striker.
Despite his age and injury issues, Aguero still remains a world-class option to have. Yes, he may not be the long-term option for Chelsea but he could be the short-term solution we could do with. Nonetheless, Chelsea could well have to turn their attentions to some other striker.
