Former Chelsea star in the Premier League not returning to Stamford Bridge

Transfer News: Willian not returning to Chelsea

According to transfer news from Mirror, Willian wants to leave Arsenal but he will not return to Chelsea. Journalist Charles Watts confirmed that the Brazilian may be keen on leaving Arsenal but a return to the Blues has been ruled out.

The Brazilian left Stamford Bridge as a free agent after 7 years at the club and joined London rivals, Arsenal. However, things have gone awry for him. The 32-year-old took 37 appearances to net his first goal for his new club. At the end of this season, he had played in 25 Premier League games but only managed a solitary goal.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man made over 300 appearances for the Blues, winning two Premier League titles in that time. Willian was always a constant in the Chelsea sid right up until his departure.

It was earlier reported that the Brazilian winger wanted to leave Arsenal and Chelsea were listed as a possible destination. However, Charles Watts from Goal has ruled out a return for the former Blues forward.

“Willian, a lot of people are asking about Willian. My understanding is the links to Chelsea, by all accounts, are just rubbish. That’s just not going to happen, he’s not going to end up going back to Chelsea, but he could leave Arsenal this summer, there is that possibility, but as far as I’m aware nothing is really active at the moment with Willian and a new club for him. Arsenal wouldn’t be against it, Willian wouldn’t be against it, but as far as I’m aware, he’s not close to signing for anyone as it stands.”
