According to Express, Tottenham have been tipped to sign Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham to replace Harry Kane. Danny Murphy has backed the out-of-favour Chelsea youngster to replace Kane, who has been linked with an exit.
Harry Kane, widely regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet, could be set for an exit from Spurs at the end of the season. Chelsea have emerged as a potential destination for the 27-year-old England captain along with Manchester City and Manchester United.
Tammy Abraham is having a torrid time at Chelsea. It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench, or even out of the matchday squads in recent weeks. The striker has hardly featured over the last three months or so. He has often come off the bench in the dying minutes or has not featured at all.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Tammy can be a worthy replacement for Kane in case the Spurs talisman does decide to leave.
“I think Harry Kane is going to go to Man City. Before we were talking about Tammy Abraham and what a signing he’d be for someone like Tottenham. If Kane is going to go… Tammy is a goalscorer.”
Chelsea are keen on selling the academy graduate for around £30m, which seems about the correct valuation for a player of his age. It’s honestly hard to justify Tammy’s constant exclusion under Tuchel. At this moment, the best option would be to cut the losses and let him leave for another club.
