Chelsea star Ben Chilwell reveals ‘angry’ dressing room at half time vs Villa

According to Football.london, Chelsea star Ben Chilwell spoke about the dressing room atmosphere against Aston Villa. It was revealed that Chelsea were angry after going down by a goal at half-time.

It was not easy and was far from straightforward in the end. However, Chelsea have again managed to secure a top-four place despite losing the final game against Aston Villa. It required a Tottenham win against Leicester to confirm that Chelsea were going through.

The final day of the Premier League wasn’t without its share of the drama as Leicester were leading at one stage and looked as if they would pip Chelsea to the qualification. As Chelsea fought their own battle, they succumbed to a first-half goal from Bertrand Traore.

Ben Chilwell, who managed to get a goal for his side in the second half gave some insight as to what was going on in the dressing room at half-time.

“First-half, we weren’t good enough. We have created chances all game, not put the game to bed when we should have. I don’t know how many chances they’ve had but it seems like they’ve scored two of their only chances. They played well, we were nowhere near good enough but like I said, we’re in the Champions League so that’s the main thing.

“We were angry at ourselves [at half-time] because we should have been winning the game. It was all to play for today, literally, and we weren’t good enough. The main thing is we’re qualified, not down to ourselves, thankfully down to Spurs but we’re through and that’s the main thing.”
