According to transfer news from Football.london, Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Real Madrid are not planning on keeping both the defenders and one might be let go.
Real Madrid are likely to enter a summer of change with a few of their players coming to the end of their contracts. Among some of the most important names are Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Ramos’ deal ends this season and Varane’s a season later.
However, contract talks have not progressed well, with Real Madrid running out of time to tie them down to new deals. Varane, whose deal ends next season, has remained coy on his future and refused to commit to the club. Meanwhile, Ramos is likely to leave as a free agent this summer.
Now, it has been reported that Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane have conceded that they cannot keep both of them and will allow one of them to leave, while trying to convince the other to stay. This surely comes as good news for Chelsea who have been linked with the pair.
The Blues have shown massive improvement in defence since Thomas Tuchel took over the reins. However, Chelsea are looking at defensive options, with some players like Silva and Azpilicueta at the fag end of their careers. A signing like Varane or Ramos could be perfect for next season.
