Transfer News: Chelsea make contact as Harry Kane asks to leave Tottenham

According to transfer news from Mirror, Chelsea have officially registered their interest in Tottenham star Harry Kane. The striker has once again gone public with his desire to leave Spurs at the end of the season.

It is public knowledge at this point that Chelsea are on the lookout for a new and prolific goalscorer ahead of the new season. And the pursuit of a new centre-forward is very much understandable given the situations of some of our current options in the striker position.

Tammy Abraham has found himself out of favour ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the reins of the club back in January while Olivier Giroud’s contract with the Blues also expiring at the end of the season, a new centre-forward would become a necessity for Chelsea. Moreover, considering the inconsistent season that Timo Werner has had so far.

Now, Chelsea could get a chance to fix all that with just one signing. Harry Kane has been the main man for Spurs for a while now. However, after another trophyless season, it seems as if he has reached his boiling point. The striker has asked the club to allow him to leave at the end of this season and Chelsea are among a few clubs to have made contact and made their interest known.
