Transfer News: West Ham and Newcastle eyeing a deal for Ross Barkley
According to transfer news from Football.london, Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley is the subject of interest from Newcastle and West Ham. The Blues are set to demand £30million for the player who spent the last season out on loan at Aston Villa.
Barkley signed for the Villans on a season-long loan deal last summer following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz. The England international made a blazing start to life at Villa Park, forming a dangerous tandem with Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins.
However, a hamstring injury he sustained in November led to a significant spell on the sidelines, post which Barkley has struggled to hit the heights of the early periods of the season. Along with that, manager Dean Smith somewhat ruled out a permanent move for the player.
That will mean Barkley is set to return to Chelsea at the end of June. Nonetheless, Newcastle and West Ham could offer him a way out. The Magpies could turn their attention to Barkley if they cannot get back Joe Willock. At West Ham, he could be greeted with a familiar face in David Moyes who worked with him at Everton. However, Chelsea will demand a rather sizable fee of £30million for the 27-year-old.

It looks very unlikely that Barkley will break into the side under Tuchel. There are already more than enough attacking players on the side. A loan deal or a permanent transfer away could do a world of good to both Chelsea and Barkley.
