Chelsea hope in the chase for this 24-year-old star after latest Barcelona decision

Transfer News: Barcelona willing to sell Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele

According to transfer news from Football.london, Barcelona have made Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele available for sale. The Spanish club are looking to rebuild this summer and will sanction the sale of 10 players including Ousmane Dembele.

The 24-year-old joined Barcelona in 2017 for big money but has not shown a consistent run of performances. Both injuries and inconsistency have seen him struggle to produce his best on a regular basis. With his contract expiring in 2022, Barcelona are running out of time to renew his deal.

While Dembele has had his share of injury problems and was almost heading out of the club last summer, he has managed to turn things around this season. Amidst Barcelona’s upturn in form, Dembele has been a central part, scoring 11 goals and assisting 5 in 44 appearances. However, it could all be in vain for Barcelona as they could lose the player next season if they cannot extend his contract.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the French winger for a while now. However, they could be about to get their hands on him this summer. Barcelona have made a decision to sell the player as well as nine others. There is also a chance Chelsea get a bargain deal for the winger due to his contract situation and admiration for Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was in charge of Dortmund when Dembele spent his only season at the club before departing for Barcelona. With the player working previously under Tuchel and now being put up for sale, Chelsea do hold some edge if they want to sign him in the summer.
