Transfer News: Chelsea make contact with Robert Lewandowski as Kane alternative
According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea have lined up Robert Lewandowski as an alternative to Harry Kane. The Blues have made contact over a move for the 32-year-old Bayern superstar in case they miss out or choose not to go after Harry Kane.
Harry Kane has been the main man for Spurs. However, after another trophyless season, it seems as if it was the last straw for him. The striker has asked the club to allow him to leave at the end of this season and Chelsea were among the few clubs to have made contact and made their interest known.
It’s no secret that Chelsea are in the market for a striker. The club have struggled in the absence of a prolific No.9 and have had to rely on goals from midfielders and defenders. It’s rather peculiar when you realize Chelsea have three strikers and all of them come with their own set of problems.
To solve those, Chelsea have turned towards Kane. However, they are going with a backup plan and that is Robert Lewandowski. It has been reported that the Blues have already made contact for the Bayern Munich hitman over a possible summer transfer.
The Polish veteran has taken his game to new heights with each passing year and has a ridiculous scoring record. He has scored 40+ goals in each of the last 6 seasons. With one game remaining, he has a chance of breaking Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a single Bundesliga season.

For a striker, it does not get better than Lewandowski and even at 32, he does not look like he is slowing down. While Chelsea would have ideally liked to sign someone like Haaland, Lukaku or even Kane, Lewandowski might just be the best alternative.
