Transfer News: Chelsea chasing non-league starlet Seb Drozd
According to transfer news from Daily Star, Chelsea are chasing non-league starlet Seb Drozd, who plays for Uxbridge. The 18-year-old has been making a name for himself and has been dubbed as the new Damien Duff.
Currently, Drozd is contracted to Uxbridge who are in the Isthmian League, participating in the eighth tier of English football. However, he has had trials with Brentford’s B team and QPR’s U-18s. He also managed to score against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City.
Drozd is a midfielder by trade but versatile enough to put a shift in the full-back positions. The youngster caught Chelsea’s attention at a game organized by AG Football Academy and the Blues have kept tabs since then.
Now, it has been reported that the club are seriously considering making an offer for Drozd in the summer. One source close to the 18-year-old even compared him to Damien Duff, who won two league titles with Chelsea.
“His style is perhaps a throwback and is similar to Damien Duff or Chris Waddle when in wide areas, but he has pace. He also has a very deceptive body swerve. Seb can also play as a wingback and is good defensively as he’s been playing non-League football where he has had to maintain defensive duties.”
