Chelsea loanee reveals plans for next season amid Premier League transfer interest

Transfer News: Conor Gallagher reveals Chelsea plans after interest from several Premier League clubs

A report by The Sun mentions that Chelsea loanee, Conor Gallagher, wants to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge next season despite transfer interest from other Premier League teams.

The young midfielder was loaned to West Bromwich Albion last summer and has impressed since then. He has played in 28 games for the Baggies this season and has been one of the best players in a season otherwise marred by relegation.

And he has caught the eye of a few Premier League clubs. Leeds United boss, Marcelo Bielsa, has been tracking his progress closely while Crystal Palace also have an interest in the 21-year-old. (h/t The Sun)

Newcastle United are another Premier League interested in his services. However, the report mentions that Gallagher wants to return to Chelsea and fight for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s side next campaign.

New kid on the block

With Gallagher determined not to give up his long-standing Chelsea dream, his pursuers may miss out on a deal for him. A chance may arise for them again in January 2022 when Gallagher has a clear idea of his place in the Blues squad. (h/t The Sun)

It’s good to see the youngster’s passion but he may not have it easy at Chelsea. The midfield seems to be stacked, at least on paper, with another young midfielder, Billy Gilmour, already struggling for game time.

Nevertheless, there are enough cup games to rotate the squad and the U-23 side to keep up the youngster’s fitness levels. But it remains to be seen if the German manager would want him back in the summer.
