According to Daily Star, Erling Haaland has named seven strikers who are better than him and among the names was a certain Timo Werner.
Despite being one of the most prolific strikers in the last 18 months or so, the Borussia Dortmund forward thinks that there are seven other strikers better than him currently.
The Blues have shown tremendous interest in the player along with the rest of the elite European clubs, meaning that they will have to stump up heavy cash to land him.
The Norwegian is arguably the hottest prospect in the world right now and has impressed heavily at Borussia Dortmund. Europe’s biggest clubs are now circling around him.
Among the seven names, there were most of the usual names in European football. However, there were one or two surprises. It was no surprise to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski up there. Then comes the bunch from the Premier League.
Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were also understandable names. However, the surprise picks were Roberto Firmino and Timo Werner.
The German striker has suffered a huge dip in form since moving to England and has not been able to replicate his RB Leipzig form for the Blues.
Nonetheless, Werner does remain a quality striker and Haaland knows better given that he faced the forward in Bundesliga in 2020. Interestingly enough, Haaland is the player Chelsea are looking to bring in to possibly replace Werner.
