Chelsea to offer one of their three players in a swap deal for 22-year-old La Liga star

Transfer News: Chelsea to offer one of their three players in a swap deal for Jules Kounde

According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea could offer one of their players in a swap deal to land Jules Kounde. It has been said that one of Haim Ziyech, Kepa or Tammy Abraham could be offered to Sevilla to get Kounde as they aim to reduce the release clause in his contract.

Kounde has made a name for himself in the short while he has been at Sevilla. That has encouraged teams from all over Europe to keep an eye on him and clubs are trying to sign him.

The likes of Manchester City and Barcelona are also said to be after the defender. Sevilla’s director of football, Monchi is also said to be open to offers for the player.

The 22-year-old defender has a relatively high release clause of £68m in his contract, making him a difficult option to pursue in the current climate. However, Chelsea could look to offer one of their players in a swap deal.

Among the names that Chelsea can offer is Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan has struggled massively this season and could be allowed to leave after just one season.

Then there is Spanish keeper Kepa. The error-prone shot-stopper has been demoted to being the second choice and a return to Spain looks possible. Lastly, there is out of favour striker Tammy Abraham who has suffered from injuries and cannot seemingly get a game under Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea will soon need to replace the likes of Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta. Both are ageing and adding a replacement like Kounde could help a lot in terms of securing that position for a good 10 years.
