Tuchel provides injury update on key Chelsea star and fans won’t like it

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel provides N’Golo Kante injury update

According to Football.london, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel provided some bad news as he confirmed that N’Golo Kante is out injured. The midfielder sustained an injury while on international duty and subsequently returned to the club.

The French midfielder played the full 90 minutes against Ukraine in the World Cup qualifier. But it was revealed after the match that he had suffered a hamstring tear during the course of their 1-1 draw.

The 29-year-old did not play for France during this international break again. France took on Kazakhstan on Sunday before a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday. They won both those games nonetheless.

However, Kante’s injury does look more serious than expected and he could be missing some vital matches for Chelsea.

“Everybody was in training today, except N’Golo Kante who was doing individual work. Everybody else was out on the pitch and that’s good news. When asked if he would miss the Porto game Tuchel replied, “Yes, probably. He is doing individual training and tomorrow the game and he can’t be with the squad.

“Then we have just three days to prepare. We have a muscle injury, as we communicated with the national team. So my realistic approach is to think about Porto, maybe the second game against Porto.”

This is indeed a huge loss given his form over the last few games. While West Brom would not have been much of an issue, the Porto game would be the one where his absence could be felt badly. One can hope for someone else to step up in his absence.
