Chelsea get an edge over Man United after this Barca star’s latest comments

Transfer News: Chelsea could sign Ousmane Dembele ahead of Manchester United

According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea could well be the club Ousmane Dembele signs for instead of Manchester United. His latest comments on his favourite player and especially the manager could indicate that he might just prefer a move to Chelsea.

The 23-year-old joined Barcelona in 2017 for big money but has not shown a consistent run of performances. Both injuries and inconsistency have seen him struggle to produce his best on a regular basis.

With his contract expiring in 2022, Barcelona are running out of time to renew his deal. This could work out well for Chelsea, who are following the player.

While Dembele has had his share of injury problems and was almost heading out of the club last summer, he has managed to turn things around this season. Amidst Barcelona’s upturn in form, Dembele has been a central part, scoring 10 goals and assisting 4 in 37 appearances.

However, it could all be in vain for Barcelona as they could lose the player next season if they cannot extend his contract. Dembele’s recent comments about his favourite manager will give Chelsea hope that they are ahead in the race for the Frenchman.

Tuchel was in charge of Dortmund when Dembele spent his only season at the club before departing for Barcelona. With the player working previously under Tuchel and now claiming him as his favourite coach, Chelsea do hold some edge over Manchester United, who have also been linked with the winger.
