Transfer News: Chelsea set their sights on Gabriel Menino

According to transfer news from Calciomercato, Chelsea are among several clubs that want to sign Gabriel Menino. The Brazilian starlet has impressed with his performances and now the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Spurs and Chelsea are after him.

Gabriel Menino is a 20-year-old Brazilian central midfielder who is a youth product of Palmeiras. He joined the youth setup in 2017 and over the years, he has progressed to the first team. Last year, he made his debut for Palmeiras against Ituano. So far, he has made 62 appearances for the Brazilian side, scoring 4 and assisting 7.

The Brazilian is a good utility player to have in the side. Even though the 20-year-old is a central midfielder, he can play at right-back, right midfield, right-wing, defensive midfield, as well as in central attacking midfield.

Menino might have a contract that keeps him at Palmeiras but the club will not stand in his way in case a suitable offer comes along. Nonetheless, having three more years on his deal will mean that the Brazilian club are in no rush to sell and can hold out for a relatively high transfer fee.

Nonetheless, the 20-year-old Menino could be a handy player for the Blues given his versatile nature and adaptability that he would bring to the table. Chelsea could use an out-and-out right wing-back or midfielder, and Menino could be a good choice in the future. However, it is bound to be a four-way battle for the youngster and Chelsea will have to win that.
