Agent of Jorginho expects new contract offer from Chelsea
Speaking on Radio KissKiss (h/t Express), Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is expected to put pen to paper on a new deal. His agent Jorge Santos claimed that it would take €50m for any club to sign the player as exit links to Juventus and Napoli have emerged in recent weeks.
Reunion with Maurizio Sarri could be on the cards as both parties could return to where they gained prominence. Sarri and Jorginho have an intertwined history. The Italian duo enjoyed a successful stint at Napoli for three years before leaving for Chelsea in 2018. As soon as Sarri was appointed, he demanded Jorginho’s signing and so he was signed.
While Jorginho is still at the club, Sarri left for Juventus in 2019. He is currently a free agent after leaving Juve last season. However, Napoli were in talks to bring back Sarri as a replacement for Genarro Gattuso. Napoli president Aurelio Laurentiis wants to bring in the former manager.
Jorginho spoke about how he missed Naples and that London was too cold. That somewhat put his future up in the air but his latest comments indicate that he is happy at the club. Now his agent has also spoken about Jorginho being expected to sign a new deal at the club.
“Jorginho would like to come back to Italy, and there is the desire to play in Serie A. If Napoli should need Jorginho, then it could happen. He still has two years left on his contract at Chelsea.
“As things stand today, his price tag is €50m [around £43m] and he has quite high wages in London. It’s unlikely that De Laurentiis would spend so much. Besides, in my view, Marina Granovskaia and Chelsea will offer him a contract renewal over the next few months.”

This does bode well given how important Jorginho has become under Thomas Tuchel. He dictates the play well from the middle and controls the game. With the player and his agent clearing the situation, the speculation could be put to rest for a while now.
