The Blues came into the game having not lost even once under the German tactician since he took over in January. During this run, Chelsea had let in just two Premier League goals.

However, all that didn’t matter as West Brom breezed past a hapless Chelsea defence further hampered by the sending off of Thiago Silva, to beat the London giants 5-2.

Opening up the result, Tuchel admitted that his side wasn’t able to react properly after Silva’s early sending off and made way too many mistakes.

“After the red card we were not able to cope with the situation. I don’t know why it was like this, after the red card we did not adapt. We gave away two easy goals before half time and in the second half, what could go wrong went wrong and we have to accept it’s a big loss today.”

However, the Chelsea managed promised that his team will produce the right response to the defeat.

“We will get the right response, because this is sport and this is absolutely necessary. It is important we digest it, it’s a lot. I did not see it coming, now we have to take responsibility, me included, shake it off, digest it and continue tomorrow.”
