Injury boost for Chelsea as two English starlets are pictured in training session

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham spotted in Chelsea training session amid injury scare

A report by Football.london mentions that Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham were in the Friday training session for Chelsea as both continue to recover from injury.

Abraham has a persisting issue in his ankle that has been there ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the club.

This was also the reason why he was not called up to Gareth Southgate’s squad to join his Chelsea teammates Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount.

His last appearance came in a 1-1 draw against late February against Southampton. But the report says that if the pictures of the training session are to be believed, then he could be back in the squad.

Timely boost

Apart from the 23-year-old, another Chelsea prodigy was pictured in the training session after suffering a recent injury scare. Callum Hudson-Odoi trained despite being sent away from the England U-21 camp due to a shoulder problem.

That cast a shadow of doubt over his involvement in the Chelsea training sessions, but the 20-year-old winger took part in the full practice session and should be in contention for the game on Saturday.

The Blues take on West Bromwich Albion in an early kick-off on Saturday as they look to tighten their grip on 4th spot. And Tuchel would know that having a fit squad goes a long way in their race for the top 4.

It is a timely boost for the Blues as they prepare for a busy week ahead. Sandwiched between their weekend Premier League games against West Brom and Crystal Palace is the all-important UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
